Sensei Jeven

Jeven Moravick began his martial arts journey at the age of six when he enrolled in Judo classes in Surrey, England. What started as a practical after-school activity quickly developed into a lifelong passion for martial arts. Throughout the 1970s, he expanded his training to include Karate, Ninjitsu, and Kung Fu, laying the foundation for a broad and diverse martial arts background.
In 1982, Jeven discovered Aikido at the Sir Philip Game Center and immediately recognized it as an art that resonated deeply with his character and philosophy. This introduction sparked a lifelong dedication to the study of Aikido and traditional Budo. He joined the Tokushima Budo Council International (TBCI) in 1986, where he formally studied Aikido, Jujitsu, and traditional weapons under Senseis Rick Domfe and Tudor Box.
During his years with TBCI, Jeven earned multiple honors, including the “Student of the Year” and “Spirit of Budo” awards. He became class Sempai in 1987, achieved the rank of Shodan in 1988, and soon after entered the organization’s formal instructor training program, earning the title of Doshi the following year.
Between 1982 and 1992, Jeven attended numerous national and regional Budo seminars, studying under distinguished instructors including Alfred Bates, George Stobbaerts, Robert Bamban, M. Michiels, Pierre Chalmange, Stephane Goffin, and Shoji Nishio. He also participated extensively in martial arts demonstrations and charitable exhibitions, helping promote traditional Budo to broader audiences.
Throughout his teaching career, Jeven has instructed students in a variety of settings, including self-defense programs, dojo instruction, corporate martial arts programs, community centers, and nonprofit organizations. His experience includes serving as resident instructor at the TBCI Hombu in England, teaching martial arts at Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, California, developing programs for the YMCA in North Hollywood, and instructing throughout Southern California and Las Vegas.
Since 2014, Jeven has been an instructor at Shoshinkan Dojo in Las Vegas, where he continues to share his knowledge of Aikido and traditional Budo. He is also the founder of the Budosai workshop program in the United States, which brings together martial artists from diverse disciplines to train, learn, and build lasting friendships through the spirit of Budo.
Jeven holds certifications from the Tokushima Budo Council, Dai Nippon Butoku Kai, British Aikido Federation, United Tang Soo Do Federation, and Russian Boxing Federation. His current ranks include Shichidan (7th Dan) in Budo, Godan (5th Dan) and Renshi in Aikido, and Cho Dan in Tang Soo Do. He remains committed to preserving the traditions of martial arts while helping students develop discipline, confidence, technical skill, and lifelong personal growth through training.
